I have to admit for this last entry that I have abused the hell out of this class, using it as an opportunity to read things that I have wanted to but never put the effort to actually doing it. I'm guilty like lots of college students of being remarkably lazy. Which is why I'm only just now getting the chance to read the web comic Lackadaisy.
Lackadaisy was one of those web comics I knew about even back in high school. I never gave it much thought because well, cats. That was my reasoning. I thought it was it was a furry comic and gave it no notice. Others insisted it wasn like that and I didn't believe them. I suppose the reason I'm giving it a chance now is because I can finally appreciate the time it takes to making a web comic as lovely as this cats or not. the detail with the backgrounds, the history of prohibition, and the amount of expressions the characters have make what is up worth the trouble.
The art like I just mentioned is wonderful and its make even better by how much life the characters bring to the story. Each of them is a joy to watch and while personally I'm not all that fond of the main character Rocky, he is charming to watch as he tries is very best, thou often fails. But the plethora of characters make it easier for me to pick out other favorites like Victor and Mordecai. Both are pretty much the main killers in the comic but both are so socially dysfunctional that I just can help but find them amusing. This one short with Mordecai has possibly made me love him forever.
This also gives a good example of just how expressive the movements of the characters are as well as their expressions. Don't tell me you can read this without smiling. Its moments like these that appear in the comic that make me want to read more and more. Sadly it seems that she doesn't update much and will only do so a few times a year. Understandable considering the level of detail but still from a readers stand point, disappointing.
